Lara Dutta

Lara Dutta was born on 16th April, 1978 in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. Her father is Wing Commander L.K. Dutta and mother is Jennifer Dutta.

Lara graduated in economics with a minor in communications from the Bombay University.

Lara Dutta won the annual Gladsrags modelling competition in her native India, thus winning the right to be the first Indian representative at the 1997 Miss International pageant, in which she took first place. Later, she was crowned Femina Miss Universe and Miss Universe in 2000.

At the age of 16 she left her home from bangalore to come to mumbai and realize her dreams. Before Miss Universe she was a successful print and ramp model. She was first discovered by Gladrags' annual modeling competition.
She appeared in ads. for Synergie, Ceat, Coke and Sprite which made her popular. Her debut film was Andaaz. She got the film fare award for Andaaz as a new comer.
