Alyson Lee Hannigan

Alyson Lee Hannigan was born on 24th March, 1974 in Washington, District of Columbia, USA to Albert Hannigan and Emilie Posner.

She is an American actress, perhaps best known for playing Willow Rosenberg on the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, as well as for portraying quirky characters in the American Pie film series and the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother.

Alyson Hannigan began her career almost from birth, becoming a TV commercial veteran following her family's move to Atlanta. At the tender age of three months, she was featured in an industrial film, "Active Parenting" (1974).

Hannigan's first major film role was in My Stepmother Is an Alien, a science fiction comedy released in 1988. She appeared in commercials and supporting roles on television shows, including Picket Fences, Roseanne and Touched by an Angel. In 1997, Hannigan was cast to play Willow Rosenberg, Buffy's best friend, on the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The show became a big success and Hannigan gained recognition, subsequently appearing in several notable films aimed at teenage audiences, including American Pie, Boys and Girls, and American Wedding.

She was married with Alexis Denisof on 11th October 2003.
