Calista Flockhart


Calista Flockhart was born on 11 November, 1964 in Freeport, Illinois. Her mother Kay, was a school teacher, and her father, Ronald, worked for Kraft Foods Inc.

She attended Rutgers University in New Jersey to study acting. After College she worked in regional theatre in Cleveland, Louisville, Chicago, and Houston for $400 for eight weeks of work. She slowly worked her way up, but the role that helped her bust through was in a revival of Tennessee Williams' "The Glass Menagerie," in 1994.

The role earned her acclaim with critics and eventually an award with the Theater World and Clarence Darwent Awards. Awards, critical acclaim, and a mass following - and just in the first year of production.

Calista Flochkart has established herself in New York, Chicago, and elsewhere with an impressive stage and theater repertoire. She worked in the off-Broadway productions of "The Loop", "All for One", "Sophistry", "Wrong Turn at Lungfish", "Beside Herself" and "Bovver Boys".

She was awarded in Golden Globe - Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Series - Comedy/Musical - "Ally McBeal"(1998) and Q Award - Best Actress in a Quality Comedy Series - "Ally McBeal" (1998).

Calista Flockhart is single and shares her home with her lovable Webster, a mutt of the terrier class.
